Sprite Biscuits?

So, I saw this recipe on the side of my FB page.  Once in awhile they look yummy, so I print them out and try them later.  We made these awhile ago, but I am just getting to posting now.  We were having soup for dinner and wanted something new to try, so we said, why not?  The recipe was for 7-Up Biscuits, but we only had one can of Sprite in our fridge.  So, we made Sprite Biscuits.

There are only 4 ingredients.  Oh, yummy ingredients.

Start with 2 cute kids, ingredients and the recipe.

Bisquick?  Check!

Sour Cream? Check!

Add soup!  Okay, as you can see the biscuit barely made the picture by the time I pored a bowl of soup.

Teacher Appreciation Gifts.

It has been awhile, my apologies.  I have many things I want to post, none will be in order I am sure.  I have been rearranging my house this past week.  We are moving our 'office' to the dining room that was never used and our office is now a hobby room.  (I call it a craft room, but my husband and I still share it.)  Pretty excited about it.  I got a desk for Mother's Day.  I will post pictures once I get it all put together.  :)

For now, I have been on a deadline to get Teacher Appreciation gifts organized.  I had the idea of a gift card tree (the kind you find at Christmas).  Well turns out, you can't find them, unless they are super expensive.  So, I got other ideas, looked on pinterest, returned all of the stuff from my other idea and went with something 'easier'.

So, I sent out a note to parents, they all donated gift cards, I then pulled out my handy dandy Cricut.  I used 4 different carts (oops, sorry didn't write the down, and don't remember), and I made flowers and one butterfly.  The gift cards then started flowing in and I realized that Starbucks has an ugly color brown.  So, I colored it up a bit by using a flower punch and some brads.  

And, here they are!  I have no idea where on pinterest where I saw this.  I think I pulled it from a combo of two or three ideas out there.   This is not my own idea, FYI.  There is my disclaimer.  

I am pleased!  I think they are cute and absolutely filled with generous gifts our wonderful teachers so greatly deserve!

Little Birthday Card

My neighbor's nephew Spencer is battling Leukemia right now.  Her hope for his 17th Birthday is to get 100 Birthday Cards to cheer him up on his Birthday.  So, I figured I'd make one.  I have no idea what to do for a 17 year old young man, let alone one battling Leukemia, so I just kinda went with this little guy from my Birthday Bash Cricut Cart and found some cool paper to back it.  Not a major work here, just simple and sweet.  I hope he likes it and that it brightens his day.

So, we just came back from Spring Break.  We went to Texas and visited some awesome friends/family and saw some pretty nifty things.  I wanted to just send a quick note of thanks to everyone we visited.  Two different families hosted us and took us around to see the sites and two other sets of friends/family spent time with us and even bought us a meal.  (So unexpected and very kind.)  Our March was so jam packed and busy and I needed to get to my crafting so I whipped up these 8 little cards in about 2 hours last night.  The lay out is basically identical.  I browsed around and got an idea off of the CM ideas website.  All I did was pick different paper and flowers.

So... here they are!  :)

So, there you have it.  Just a few quick cards.  I look forward to the day where I can just mass produce a bunch of these to just have on hand.  I also think they'd be good as a gift, like a stack of them?

While I was at my kiddo's school, I was snapping some photos to put in the  School scrapbook.  One of the kids ran up to me and pleaded 'Noah's Mommy, you HAVE to take a picture of Crabby!  He is new and in our class and he's a crab!'  So, I did.  Then I figured, why not make him a page.  Noah has done a great job keeping it a secret, he had to go to school for a day and not tell anyone we added a page just for Crabby.  

So, here is Crabby's page.  

I used Create a Critter for the crab and the font is from Baby Steps.

Then, good ole glitter glue.  

I love glitter, it is just such a happy little thing!

School Scrap Book

At the beginning of the year my son's teachers asked if there could be a scrapbook made for the class.  I put my name on the little line and didn't think of it again until after my hand healed from being broken.  I was quite excited for it, I had an idea and I went with it.  I figured this book will stay in the class until the lat day of school and then on the last day, each kid can take home their own page.

I used the Cricut and many of it's cartridges, as well as the Creative Memories Boarder Maker System.  I will do my best to say what I used where.  Here they are.  This is a big post, you can always come back for school ideas of your own.

3 Birds on Parade.

There are a couple that I don't remember which ones I used.  What I ended up doing to mass produce this album was break it down.

Night 1. Pick out paper

Night 2.  Cut out the names using the Cricut.  (Plantain School Book.)

Night 3. Cut out borders.

Night 4 and day 5.  Spent the weekend at a friends and did all but 3.

Night 6 Finished up.

(I did these all while the kids were sleeping and on some scrap nights that I managed to get away for.)

I did have to make the pictures 3 1/2 x 5 so I could get 3 to a page.  Fortunately my hubby is awesome and used his nifty Mac to format to size, and printed them out for me and then I cut them to for the borders I had made.  

Lot's of work, but totally worth it. These kids are going to feel very special I think. Enjoy, I hope you get some useful ideas.
